Takes all of 5 minutes to go online. Any problem with spotlight staying on is easily rectified by reducing sensitivity. Nice addition to 3 other cameras.

With the rash of break-ins that are happening in my area, I needed a system that would record high quality video, save it to the cloud and alert me if there were suspicious activities near the entrances of my home. The ring camera checked all these off.
The cameras are able to capture crisp video, even if the subject is moving quickly. The night vision video quality is also sharp.
One of the best features on this camera is that I can set up motion zones that lets me get notifications in the key areas around my house. And I can easily sort through the recorded videos in the intuitive ring app.

Impressed with how easily it was to mount it and sneak the wire around the trim of the garage door so that the wire can be hidden inside the garage and not exposed outside. Knocked off a star because the reason I had to buy this is because the ring doorbell cam doesn’t pick up everything. Also, their website for helping you choose a protect plan (if you want video recording) is horrific. I’m young and techy and don’t understand what protect options their are and what I’m signed up for. It’s absolutely horrible. Also it says my account has no payment options set up or payment history’s which is wrong because I’ve been paying for my doorbell to have recording every month for years and it shows on my credit card.

I own several older ring cameras to include two regular spotlight cameras. I decided to add another view to my porch since my doorbell camera catches zero movement. I bought this spotlight version because it was on sale for black Friday. Install on all of my other cameras were pretty straight forward and tool under 30 minutes. I spent 90 minutes with this new one due to software pushes and app errors. The app is supposed to pickup the new camera fairly easily and sheet the user that a download is required, but it did not, and forced the camera to be added…half operational. The alerts kept going off and the camera itself wouldn’t respond in the app. I could not delete it remove the camera and had to unplug several times and try hard restarts. I finally had to call customer service who were great, but as we stayed taking, the camera started to notify the app that it was going to push an update. Aftet that completed it functioned. Asides from that problem, the camera itself is still not as clear as my previous camera, and the body is much larger…probably due to the battery option (which it came with no batteries). Another thing is this plug…Holy moly is there a challenge there. The plug has this awkward large box that you have to figure out where to put/screw down (definitely backwards in tech).
