I have added this stick up camera as my second Ring addition. I mounted this to monitor the back door/yard. I was a little concerned about it running solely on battery, however the charge seems to last forever. Field of view is wide and sharp. Very happy so I purchased the Ring spotlight camera. This should complete my security suite

I’ve owned many different “Ring” products in the last 12 years but this one was by far the best. Setup is super easy. Everything is already integrated since I own other “Ring”products. Setup couldn’t be more smooth. I continue to be amazed by “Ring”
Update: I spoke too soon 😕 after I set this up and got it all connected, it worked great! For about 3 hours, then a big black block started appearing directly in view of the video. I haven’t been able to rectify this on my own so I’m currently trying to contact “customer support” update on my review coming soon.
Update: All is good now. A “Ring” representative helped me work it all out 👍🏽
Turns out it was the settings I was trying to familiarize myself with and I unknowingly created these “privacy zones”. Which all I had to do was delete and the black box went away. I’m still glowing about “Ring” in general. I had an excellent experience working with their customer support. Very helpful, professional, and courteous!

Battery drains a solid 5% a day. The ring site says it lasts months, this is misleading. Set up was easy and it looks fine but if it won’t power up after a couple weeks this may prove to be more of a hassle than a benefit…

UPDATE: After posting the original review below I was contacted by RING to gather information about my activation struggles. It was an incredibly positive experience and I believe our conversation will improve the customer support interface for other product buyers. Bottom line – RING stands behind their product and they really do care about your customer experience. Important Lesson Learned – before you attempt to activate a new device, ALWAYS check to ensure you have the latest version of the RING App on you mobile device. After updating my app, all of the issues I encountered were resolved. My new RING Spotlight Pro camera is working flawlessly and I am extremely satisfied thus far. Solid product and exceptional manufacturer support.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I pre-ordered this spotlight camera and it arrived quickly. The setup instructions were pathetic and incomplete. After several unsuccessful attempts to activate the product I called the customer support line. I wound up with someone in Pakistan or somewhere in that part of the world who obviously doesn’t know the product or the app. Eventually I gave up and was going to return it to Amazon. However, after realizing that this new product wasn’t appearing as one of the devices to select for activation under the cameras menu, I decided to check my RING app to see if it needed an update (customer support should have asked about this). IT DID REQUIRE AN UPDATE! Once I updated the app I was able to activate the new camera.

I bought TWO of these for $303.00!! Now, it’s $199.00 for ONE! So, $100.00 savings. woh hoo! Let’s see if they are worth anything.
